The new founded Lion's Den is more than simply a record label. It's also a Soundsystem, a studio, a platform, a collective, a production and promotion force, and a "political solidarity support", focused all around music currently situated in Berlin, Germany, and Brixton, London UK. The record label Lionís Den has the aim to promote proper Dub, Steppaz, Rootzstep, Dubstep, Reggae and Jungle music on vinyl and digitally, including videos, art installations, merchandise, etc.

For its first release the label has teamed up with rising heavyweight steppaz producer P. Neyrand aka Panda Dub outta Lyon, France, who has been inspired by the french electro-dub school (High Tone, Brain Damage, and Improvisators Dub) on the one side and the heavy Steppers oriented UK-dub scene (Iration Steppas and Alpha & Omega) on the other side. His creations have thereafter evolved to a personal style as Panda Dub's touch wisely mixes together ethno samples, fresh electronic melodies, enchanting textures and punchy stepper riddims sustained by powerful basslines.

This "Lent Roots Pour Chant EP" features a driving riddim with three vocal cuts and a special heavy steppaz dub cut, mixed by Roommate outta San Francisco, USA, and finally transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth. It's well known Jamaican deejay Daddy Freddy who gets things started with "Hot A Di Press". Like many Jamaican artists, he made his first recording for Clement "Coxsone" Dodd's Studio One label in 1985. From there on he recorded many great tunes and scored a remarkable six Top Ten hits in Jamaica during 1986. "Hot A Di Press", delivered in the deejay's inimitable style, is a solid effort, followed by Brother Culture whose "Dance Teng" matches the Daddy Freddy piece. Rather unknown Lesotho-born Kali Green outta Berlin, Germany, makes a decent impression with his uplifting message tune "Hard Working". Panda Dub's "Lent Roots Pour Dub" is the icing on the cake. It's a mindblowing dub effort that will surely be appreciated and enjoyed by fans of an electronic style of dub.

Serious bass heavy reggae music!
