Former ARP (A Raw Perspective) member DaVille impressed with both his debut "In Heaven" and its follow-up "On My Mind" establishing
him as one of dancehall's leading singers. Now the Japanese Guiding Star label releases an
absolutely brilliant EP by him. The first track sees this 'Big Bad Singer' deliver a stunning take on The Contours' "Do You Love Me" over Bob Marley & the Wailers' 1965 Studio One classic 'I'm Gonna Put It On' of which the very powerful clean version "Ska It On Version" by G-Conqueror, Masa & The Rude Pressures is included as well. Two more true scorchers complete this EP, both over Steely & Clevie versions of classic Studio One riddims, the heartfelt plea to his girl to "Forgive Me" over 'Death In The Arena' and the grateful "Nobody Else (Neva De Deh)" across Cornell Campbell & The Eternals' 'Stars'-riddim. This is a must have EP! |
