Nicknamed Canada's answer to Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Moss Raxlen, better known as Mossman, adores King Tubby, Lee Perry and Scientist, which is a clear indication of his musical direction. In recent years he has released several fine albums, but this one is somehow special. The creation of this cd commenced after the Ice storm of 1998 and finished around the start of 1999. It's Mossman's first dub album, produced with his friend and mentor Bunny (Bayani C. Esguerra) with whom he started working in 1993. Bunny recognized his talent for music and helped him to hone his dubbing skills. This set is the dub album of "Message For the World", the one and only album by Singer Judah & Jah Children band. It didn't get released at that time due to certain 'ghetto politicks'. The tracks found here are excellent dub outings, rooted firmly in the Jamaican dub tradition of the Seventies, which happens to be a magnificent compliment! Mossman has a fine feeling for the original riddims of Singer Judah & Jah Children Band and his reworking of the structure of the song is above par.
This record will also be out as a limited hand numbered silkscreen cover vinyl press and the cd also has a limited addition art work.
Good dubbed Stuff!
