Caribbean Pulse is
formed by William (Billy) Smith Jr., adding the titles of
leader, organizer, spiritual guide and rhythm guitarist
to an already busy schedule, with talented lead singer,
songwriter, and percussionist Ezzy (pronounced 'easy')
Judah, known as an energetic and charismatic performer,
extremely talented young vocalist and composer LaNiece
McKay, 21-year-old Jason "BassyJ" Smith, a self-contained
producer, songwriter, arranger & bass player, with his
talented brother 'Billy' on rhythm guitar and
multi-talented cousin Gil Smith on keyboards, are joined
by a full compliment of musicians, including drummer
Carlton 'Santa' Davis, keyboardist Michael Hyde,
guitarist Steve Verhault, and the 'steamin' horn section
of Mike McGuffey on trumpet, trombonist Mike Daigeau and
Gary Herbig on saxophone. With the release of the
video-backed single Dry Your Eyes, in combination with
Jamaican roots deejay Tony Rebel on vocals the band
received rave reviews from reggae critics and fans alike.
Their "Stand Up" album is a fine and mature collection of some
13 songs. The album has become a well varied set with
enough solid songs to please the average reggae fan. Here
you will find strong roots 'n' culture tunes such as the
opening track Victory, our favourite tracks Join Forces,
Stand Up and also Freedom. On the other hand they also
know how to lay down a decent lovers rock song : Check
out the beautiful tracks Woman, Misty Moonlight and Where
Did The Love Go.
Produced by internationally acclaimed and talented
producer Fabian Cooke the band has released a fine collection of tunes.
