After his promising 1997 debut album 'Scarecrow' Johnny Dread releases his latest effort, 'Book Of Revelations, Chapter One : Vison', the first in a series of seven upcoming cd's, each beholding a different message. The beautifully packaged album (check out the artwork !) comprises 10 roots reggae tracks on which Johnny Dread unfolds his spiritual beliefs, hopes and vision. The music on the album is a steady one drop reggae with influences of rock music, gospel and carribean music. Standout cuts on 'Vision' are the powerful opening track Who We Are, the rhytmic Shoo Be Do and Armageddeon. I do believe Johnny Dread is easily able to grab your attention with this album, so check it out and get the other album too. |
