Trojan Records has compiled 50 essential dub tracks on this triple cd dub box set -a limited edition ! The set is a collection of dubs from albums Trojan released in the 70s and early 80s, such as Gregory Isaacs' 1978 set 'Slum In Dub', the classic 1975 Niney The Observer set 'Dubbing With The Observer', 'Black Ash Dub' by The Revolutionaries, the Linval Thompson produced album 'Scientist & Jammy Strike Back !', Tommy McCook's dub-instrumental set 'Cookin' and 'Johnny In The Echo Chamber', the latter released in 1994.
The tracks were mixed by the likes of King Tubby, Prince Jammy, Scientist and Lee Perry. A lot of the tunes are Bunny 'Striker' Lee productions, the man who had a fruitful relationship with the dubmaster King Tubby. Other producers on board are Lee Perry, Linval Thompson, Alvin Ranglin and Niney The Observer.
If you have yet to discover the mind blowing world of dub, you could wish for no finer introduction than this superb collection, and if you're a reggae/dub adept you will surely agree that this one is more than essential !
