Early 2013, Overstand Entertainment - the dub smuggling record label from Kingston JA - created notable waves with its debut riddim project, the rub-a-dub styled "Rootsman", which revitalized Ini Kamoze's "Wings With Me". Now keyboard player and producer Phillip 'Winta' James aka Dub Smuggler, who toured with artists such as the Mighty Diamonds, the Heptones, Anthony B, Bushman and Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley before he started producing, is back with another scorcher; the "Militancy" riddim. Just like the "Rootsman" riddim, this new backdrop draws from the '70s and early '80s roots music and vibe. It's modern heavy roots with dub, voiced by world wide known names like Jah Cure and Chezidek, but also by very promising artists who are part of the international much anticipated Reggae Revival movement; Protoje, Iba Mahr, Jesse Royal, Dre Island, King Mas aka MasSicker and Kabaka Pyramid.

A bit surprising to see Jah Cure's name here, but the artist who attracted attention in 1997 with the single "King Of The Jungle" (a duet with Sizzla) and got his real breakthrough with "True Reflections", makes a truly good impression with "Territory", which somehow reminds us of Hopeton Lindo's tune of the same name. And there's also Chezidek, another artist who emerged in the mid-90s, delivering a noteworthy effort called "Damage". Although sounding somewhat different than usual, the well respected singjay fully shines on this cut. Protoje has gained many fans during his extensive tour in Europe this year and they will be well pleased hearing his solid "Resist Not Evil". With his "Lead The Way EP", Kabaka Pyramid has shown that he's an artist to watch for in the near future and "The Revival" affirms this. But also Iba Mahr, whose "Step Away" is an awesome tune, Jesse Royal and up-and-coming Dre Island are names that one should keep in mind, because they show great potential as their contributions are above par. Completing this juggling set is a dub version of the riddim mixed by Tuff Gong engineer Gregory Morris.

A great juggling set packed with killer tunes. Turn up the volume and enjoy!!!
