VP's Reggae Gold series is the most anticipated reggae & dancehall music compilation with the big hits and crucial crossover tracks from the past 12 months. This edition comes with a bonus disc of 10 classic reggae hits from the past.

The album opens with two crossover tunes, the first being rapper Snoop Lion who joins forces with Popcaan and Mavado for Lighters Up, followed by the huge hit Jah No Partial from Major Lazer, a re-visioned version of Johnny Osbourne's original hittune 'Mr. Marshall'. Major Lazer is best know for his collaboration with Busy Signal called 'Watch Out For This (Bumaye)'. Top notch dancehall vibes with Body as performed by Sean Paul, which appeared on his 2012 album 'Tomahawk Technique'. Aidonia comes on strong with Fi Di Jockey, produced by Stephen 'Di Genius' Mcgregor. All the controversy surrounding Kotch by RDX resulted in major airplay and a great video clip of the song, courtesy of Cash Flow Records. The seductive Wine Slow by Gyptian pon Russian's 'Rio' riddim was released in August 2011. Included here is the exclusive one drop reggae tune One Shot from singer-songwriter Angela Hunte, who not only contributed lyrics and vocals for both Snoop Lion and Major Lazer's recent albums, but was the mastermind songwriter behind Jay Z's Grammy-winning song 'Empire State Of Mind' featuring Alicia Keys.

I-Octane's song Gyal A Gimme Bun was produced by Troyton and Seanizzle and gave his fans a touch of self-deprecating humor and delivered a cautionary tale to guys who don't spend enough time with their ladies. Konshens is one of the leading dancehall figures, so do check out Bad Gal. Produced by Sly and Robbie & Sting International, Shaggy and Beres Hammond deliver a strong version of the 'Sitting And Watching' riddim called Fight This Feeling. The song is also featured on Shaggy's recent album 'Out Of Many, One Music'. We're sure that you'll get into the mood with the soulful reggae tune Perfect Love Song by Morgan Heritage. Busy Signal keeps the mood flowing with his tune You And Me that is underpinned by the 'Soul Reggae' riddim. Chimney Records unleashed the 'Tropical Escape' riddim at the end of 2012, Etana licks the riddim first with Let's Get Silly, followed by Tarrus Riley's superb version called Gimmie Likkle One Drop. Two wicked boom tunes close the first disc, Love, Love, Love by the combination Etana and Busy Signal and Kes The Band with Tuesday On The Rocks. The latter's 'Gyal Season' riddim is an updated version of the classic 1967 Treasure Isle riddim 'Don't Stay Away' from Phyllis Dillon.
