New I-Octane album
New I-Octane album: “Love & Life”.
Byiome Muir (born 29 April 1984), better known by his stage name I-Octane, is a reggae and dancehall recording artist from Clarendon Parish, Jamaica. He is known for integrating positive and socially conscious subject matter into his music, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and Rastafarian teachings.
Spending time at Donovan Germain’s Penthouse studio and rubbing shoulders with more established artistes such as Buju Banton and Tony Rebel gave I-Octane the opportunity to hone his skills and talent. Three years after linking with Penthouse, I-Octane caught the interest of Arrows Recording Company. He was approached by Junior Arrows who ended up signing him to the label. This decision brought with it a lot of changes and Octane slowly began to make a name for himself. He transitioned from dancehall music to a more cultural vibe and his first hit single “Stab Vampire” cemented his position as a notable reggae artist. Inevitably, he soon began to link with notable producers who were all clamoring to work with the young artist and his repertoire of hit songs broadened rapidly. His catalogue continued to grow likewise his accolades and he has received numerous awards and nominations in recognition of his work.
I-Octane’s new full-length album “Love & Life” is slated for release worldwide March 30, 2018 on the artist’s own record label Conquer The Globe Productions. It follows up “Crying to the Nation” (2012) and “My Journey” (2014), two albums that have imposed him as an inventive lyricist and omnipresent artist on Jamaican, American and European airwaves. He is known for countless collaborations including Bounty Killer, Agent Sasco, Tarrus Riley, Wayne Marshall, Damian Marley, Aidonia, and Vybz Kartel.
Practicing THE sound of the moment in Jamaica, I-Octane borrows as much from new-roots as from electro and dancehall. The “Love & Life” album contains 19 tracks and features collaborations with J Boog, Demarco, Yanique, Romain Virgo, Shaggy and Ginjah.
