ZHP releases 12inch vinyl single
Zion High Productions (ZHP) celebrates 15 years of roots reggae music with their first ever release of a double-A sided 12″ steppaz-style vinyl single for the ever-growing, worldwide sound system market. Rooted in the signature Zion I Kings production sound, the four track single brings authentic and original instrumentation into the steppaz arena.
Mixed by Zion I Kings bassist, David “JAH David” Goldfine, the single features the voices & lyrics of two of reggae’s leading talents – Virgin Islands’ favorite son Pressure Busspipe (“Love and Affection”, “Virgin Islands Nice”) and longtime U.K. based “Empress Lioness” Barbara Naps.
Pressure’s lead-off track, “JAH is Worthy” is a stirring Rastafari call for upright unity in face of disorder and uncertainty. “What is good shall prosper, whatsoever (is) in the earth.” The ‘A’ side includes the “horns” instrumental mix featuring the trumpet of Patrick “Aba Ariginal” Anthony aka Patrixx Matics (Matics Horns) and Drew Keys’ trombone.
Barbara Naps’ “The Rainbow”, on the AA-side, is a driving appeal for clean hearted living on the road to Rastafari redemption- “Eyes to the front, keep moving forward …Eyes to the front, never look backward.” Zion I Kings’ Rainbow dub mix completes the 12″ project with flair and finesse, adding just the right amount of a stringy synth plus a touch of melodica.
