The Wixard & Jesse Royal collaborate
Out now is a brand new track from The Wixard featuring Jesse Royal titled “Raging Storm.” Born Nastassja Hammond and daughter of reggae legend Beres Hammond, The Wixard got her start in reggae at the young age of 10 years old. It was then she made her first beat and the rest is history. Now having produced and remixed superstar artists like Nelly Furtado, Fefe Dobson, Michael Franti and reggae legends like Beenie Man and Marcia Griffiths, she is no stranger in making sweet reggae music.
2011 was a major year for The Wixard as she scored and produced 26 songs for Season 2 of the Caribbean’s number 1 dance show IN THE DANCE as well as having the show’s top dance track “Watch It” synced to MTV’s TV show The Jersey Shore. The Wixard co-wrote and produced 7 tracks for Canadian pop star Kreesha Turner’s sophomore album Tropic Electric, and was the only female producer featured on superstar Paulia Rubio’s Latin Billboard number 1 album Brava. The Wixard has teamed up with Walshy Fire of Major Lazer to produce an album for the Jamaican Reggae outfit Nomaddz that is scheduled to release early 2019.
Her latest venture, “Raging Storm” features Reggae star Jesse Royal. The song is regarding two lovers reminiscing during a storm. Making references to watching the lightning, hearing the rain fall, all while holding your significant other close. The song is the perfect track to listen to you with your partner during a rainy day. This is not Jesse and The Wixard’s first collaboration. Their first song together came back in 2013 when she produced Jesse’s song “Wadada.”
