Horace Andy & Cultural Warriors – Money
Cultural Warriors, who began their careers in the early 1990s, quickly established themselves as Swiss ambassadors of Dub and Roots Reggae in the European Dub scene. They have collaborated with the greatest Jamaican artists through their Sound System and their label. Their productions have travelled the world and have established themselves as a sure value on today’s Dub scene. With this release, Evidence Music team (Derrick Sound for the mix & Nicolas Meury for the mastering) keep pushing their dub catalogue after the success of Brother Culture’s album “Code Name”.
For their first release with Evidence Music, Cultural Warriors offers a collaboration with one of the most beautiful voices of Reggae Roots, Horace Andy. Discovered through his hits at Studio One, like “Skylarking” or “Mr Bassie”, Horace Andy has never stopped recording and in the 1990s his collaboration with Massive Attack brought him to the biggest stages of the world and made this Reggae figure discovered by a younger audience. This version of his hit “Money” will surely smash more than one dance this winter.
In addition to Horace Andy, Cultural Warriors offers “A Little Way Different” featuring another Reggae Roots star, Errol Dunkley, the singer of the hit songs “OK Fred” and “Black Cinderella” which imposed him in 1979 as one of the most selling Jamaican artists in England. With this new version of “A Little Way Different”, we realize that Errol Dunkley hasn’t lost his angel voice.
This 12″ vinyl release – out on December 8, 2018 – is supported by a beautiful video compiling image from Jamaica, highlighting the message of the song, “Money Is The Roots Of All Evil”.
