Vanessa Bling presents Still Standing EP
Vanessa Bling, who started off as Gaza Slim makes a grand return to the dancehall airwaves with her debut EP “Still Standing”. A few weeks ago, the former Gaza princess released her new music video “10 Bags”, a cut featured on the new EP, which features six tracks with no guest features.
The “Still Standing EP” follows a four-year involuntary hiatus from music for Vanessa Bling. In 2010, she was signed to her mentor and reggae superstar Vybz Kartel and quickly began performing across the globe in support of his hit song “Clarks”, which features Bling and Popcaan.
Vanessa Bling was set to break into the US market, when Vybz Kartel’s 2011 arrest changed her trajectory. Soon thereafter, Vanessa found herself at the center of one of Jamaica’s most high-profile criminal cases and for the next three years, as she endured imprisonment, probation, travel and work restrictions, she fought to prove her innocence while never losing sight of her goals.
Her debut EP is a true accomplishment and a testament to Vanessa Bling’s faith. In addition, its high debut on Billboard’s Top 10, after her hiatus, proves that her fanbase has been loyally waiting for her return.
In the coming months, Bling will continue to promote “Still Standing”, in the US but also internationally. She is set to go out on a Caribbean and European tour and will also make stops in Dubai and Israel.
