Johnny Osbourne - Nightfall

Record Store Day Exclusive: Johnny Osbourne – Nightfall

“Nightfall” is a deep collector’s rarity from reggae and dancehall icon Johnny Osbourne. The original album, recorded at Channel One and produced by Linval Thompson, was released in Jamaica on the Jah Guidance label in 1981. VP Records released the album in the US, and in Europe the album got a release on the Cha-Cha label, renamed “In Nah Disco Style”. Lyrically most songs are inna lovers style. But included are also  strong message tunes. The riddims, mostly done by the Roots Radics, are strictly hard driven, mixed by Hopeton ‘Scientist’ Brown in the early eighties dancehall style: splashing and dashing in King Tubby’s echo chamber with a solid bass as the foundation. The “Nightfall” LP will be available on Colour Splash Vinyl Only!
