Reggae Geel 2019

The 41st edition of Europe’s longest running reggae festival, Reggae Geel, will take place on August 2nd and 3rd. Today they unveil the first names of this year’s edition, which include the headliners of Friday 2 and Saturday 3 August 2019.

Last year Reggae Geel’s 40th edition was a big party, and now, with the announcement of the first names for this year’s edition, it promises to be a top event again. It’s the Gargamel, Buju Banton, who is welcomed as a Saturday headliner. Back from 8 years and 7 months away and already praised worldwide for his “Long Walk To Freedom” show that attracted more than 40,000 reggae fans from around the world to Jamaica. Now, for the very first time, Reggae Geel has managed to add him to its line-up,  allowing him to detonate his party bomb over the entire festival grounds! In other words: an artist not to be missed! Also Friday August 2nd will be a blast, because then they have reggae dancehall star Busy Signal as headliner on the main stage.

Here are already more big names that are part of the 2019 line-up,

But, of course, Buju Banton and Busy Signal are not the only big artists you can expect. You can see names like Richie Spice, David Rodigan meets King Jammy, Kumar, Keida, The Tennors, Pablo Gad, Rootz Underground, and many others on Saturday August 3rd. In a nutshell: 2 days, 80 acts, and 4 stages full of reggae pleasure!

But what else does Reggae Geel have in store this year? Well, they proudly present their new Tallawah Stage. Tallawah is a hybrid merger of the former Yard and Skaville stages. You can expect a mix of new talent, acoustic sets, reggae yoga sessions, ska artists and much more.

There is also good news for those who have planned to stay at the festival campsite, as this is already opening on Thursday August 1st at 6 pm. And the campers will not get bored there, because that same Thursday evening you can go to the One Love Tent at the campsite for the Pre-Party: an extra party to warm up!
