Compendulum Meets Capital Letters – Judgement Day RMX
COMPENDULUM MEETS CAPITAL LETTERS – JUDGEMENT DAY RMX | NEW ALBUM
Early August 2018, Sugar Shack Records – the sister imprint of Bristol Archive Records and Reggae Archive Records – released the 13-track album “Judgement Day” by Capital Letters feat. JB. The album was mixed by Chris Potter aka Compendulum, who is known for his fresh mixing approach. And although dubheads might have hoped to get a Dub version of the “Judgement Day” album, Sugar Shack Records and Capital Letters approved Compendulum’s idea to break away from the traditional and explore a different approach.
The results are presented under the title “Judgement Day RMX”, which comprises of eight of the tracks from the original album (with name tweaks) and four ‘Drub-A-Dubs’ for the dub lovers. It all gets started with a dramatic “Love Rastafari”, which seamlessly goes into “Judgement Soon Come” and then an instrumental “What Are They Doing”. Fellow label mate Joe Peng lends his MC skills to “Yard Breaker” and these four tracks are featured as ‘Drub-A-Dubs’ at the end of the album. “Cornerstone”, “D-Roots”, the rhythmic “2 Much War” and “Give Me Back” finish the musical exploration.
The album was released as digital download on June 28, 2019.
