Prince Buster -Africa-Islam-Revolution Kingston JA 1966-72

After having released several 10″ singles featuring tunes from Ernest Ranglin, Tommy McCook & The Supersonics, The Baba Brooks Band, Brent Dowe & The Gaytones, and Prince Buster, French record label Earth Sound Records has unleashed an excellent 12-track cd compilation of Prince Buster’s late ’60s/early 70s militant early roots recordings. Included are such treasures as the staggering “7 Winders Of The World”, the amusing “Drunkards Psalm”, the brilliant “Shepherd Beng”, “It’s A Fire” (a cut to Buster’s “Java”), and an instrumental cut to Buster’s “Sata Masa Gana”, mingled with some fire and brimstone preachin’ on “African Affair”, “Black Power”, “Message To The Black Man” and “White Man’s Heaven”. The cd, released on November 20th 2019, has superb sleeve notes on fold out digipak case. A truly essential release!
