GOA SUNSPLASH ANNOUNCES DIGITAL EDITION FOR 2021

Goa Sunsplash is a festival steeped in the ideals of reggae music – peace, love and unity. Situated on the sun-drenched beaches of Goa, India, Goa Sunsplash is focused on creating a holistic lifestyle experience through music, art, dance, wellness programs and social forums. The festival is committed to being a world-class destination festival that is rooted in sustainability and social awareness.

The online edition of the festival will see a number of international and local singers and deejays on the line-up. Headlining acts for this year’s event include Jamaican roots reggae legend Clinton Fearon, UK based Punjabi dancehall icon Apache Indian, French pop reggae star Naaman and American singer Bobby Hustle. Other notable acts on the line-up include New Delhi based reggae stalwarts Reggae Rajahs, legendary roots selectors Earl Gateshead and Soul Stereo, rising Indian reggae singers Lady Skavya, Sanyas-I and Dread Steppa and soul/funk band Lojal Collective.

The two-day festival will be a free event streamed online, in support of local Goan children’s charity, Goa Outreach. Since 2013, Goa Outreach has worked to educate, feed, clothe and provide health care to slum and street children all over Goa. ‘Festival goers’ will have an option to donate to Goa Outreach while watching the event as well as in the days preceding the festival.

“We are thrilled to be giving people a taste of the Goa Sunsplash vibe online,” says Zorawar Shukla, co-founder of the festival. “Considering the difficult year that everyone has had, we wanted to uplift spirits and spread positivity through our unique community of artists ” he added.

Talking about the upcoming, digital edition of the festival, Shukla said, “When we proposed the idea to some of the artists on the line-up, they were overjoyed to be part of this digital edition. Clinton Fearon is an absolute roots music legend and his acoustic set is something that fans should be very excited about. Apache Indian, of course, needs no introduction and his slew of hits is really going to get the party going!”

Shukla also touched upon Goa Sunsplash’s association with Goa Outreach for this event. “As a festival, our ethos has always been about spreading love. Goa Outreach imbibes the same philosophy in their work with street children in Goa. We are delighted to be supporting them through donations from our festival goers from this digital edition of our event,” he said.
