Kryme Rate sweeps Talent Contest
Firm favourite, Kryme Rate, was the undisputed winner topping nine other finalists in the Champion Bwoy Talent contest at Summerfield, Clarendon, last Sunday.

The young, gifted, and black, based in Clarendon, Jamaica, presented a complete package laced with original lyrics, well-choreographed set, to woo the crowd who cheered when he was announced the winner.

“It was a great show, Both promoter Champion Bwoy, and producer Just for Peace International, lift the competition to an international standard.”

“I am so happy that I will now get the opportunity to expose my talent around the world. Blessings to sponsors US “Beatbopper” and lawyer Denniese Walker,”

Other major sponsors include OP Enterprises, Roses 88.9 FM, and Rain Drops Enterprises. Apart from the winning trophy, sponsored by US-based Michael “Beatbopper” Hudgins, the deejay will get the opportunity to be on Hudgin’s next international album. Hudgins is now promoting two albums, “Miungu Ya Muziki” and “Certified Gold.”

Second-placed winner 1Brawlin, copped the second place prize which includes the Denniese Walker Trophy, a gift basket, and a cash award.

Third-placed winner, X-xavi won the Champion Bwoy trophy, a gift basket, and a cash award.

Category prizes were lone female, Treazure, winning Most Disciplined, YG securing Best Dressed with Best performer going to Young and Hype. All ten contestants were presented with Champion Bwoy gold medals.

The competition began with the playing of Jamaica’s national anthem, the introduction of judges, and Tina Turner’s “Simply The Best.” This was followed by contestants rendering their favourite cover version.

Kryme Rate stood out with “Picture Fi Frame” one made popular by Zebra.

The second half was more competitive with most of the competitors displaying their best of the season. They include 1Brawlin (“Jah Jah Guide Me”), X-xavi (“Vanity Love”), Ras Nucah (“Hold On Pon You Lover”).

But, the writing was clearly on the wall when Kryme Rate delivered “Money Machine” which had the crowd in a frenzy.

Promoter Champion Bwoy is considering making the event an annual affair.
