Macka Diamond goes back to college

Dancehall artiste Macka Diamond was far more than a “Dream Body” when she made three appearances on the The Release College Tour, a production of Tallissa.

The deejay first performed at Moneague Community College, November 1, 2022. The second at Sam Sharpe Teacher’s College, November 2. The third at Portmore Community College.

In addition to her stellar performance, the deejay, along with members of the team, had a pep talk – including career goals – with students.

In an interview with Reggae-Vibes the “Money Ooh” deejay says, “I just loved the entire setting. It was some great performance. Students and others really appreciate us because we made them happy.”

“It’s always good to go back to school because it remind us of the importance of education. We Interacted with students, so there was a lot from which both parties could benefit.”

“At Moneague, for example, we met a students who produced cosmetic products which we endorsed fully. So, we will be helping to promote these on our social media platforms.”

Among the other artistes on the tour are D’ Angel, Mr Vegas, Razor B, Sassique and Top Man.

Macka Diamond has been involved in school tours for over 20 years.

The deejay is well known for such songs as “Bun Him” – a combination with Blacker & Hula Hoop, and “Dye Dye.”

She made history when she took full credits at Alkaline’s New Rules Festival and had social media buzzing for weeks.

With Christmas in the air Macka Diamond lists her favourite Christmas carols as, “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer”, “Silent Night” and “Oh Holy Night”.
