Ministry of Education endorses Fully Bright initiative
Dancehall/Afrobeat artiste Shaka Pow’s Fully Bright initiative in schools has been endorsed by Fayval Williams, the Minister of Education in Jamaica.
This has already started in two schools – St John’s Primary, Spanish Town and St. Andrew Primary, St. Andrew.
Deejay Shaka Pow, a doctor by profession, says he is very happy the Ministry has pledged support.
“This initiative really needs the blessings of the Ministry. We now feel happy that this initiative will enhance learning in our schools across Jamaica.”
So far, over ten schools have invited the Fully Bright team in their schools.
The Fully Bright initiative seeks to inform, educate, and entertain students focussing on the importance of education.
The Fully Bright programme includes the introduction of the Fully Bright song and video; a motivational talk by Dr. McDonald; a talent contest involving students surrounding the Fully Bright theme along with awarding certificates and or gifts to students.
Earlier in the week, Dr. McDonald presented three students with Fully Bright gift baskets at St. John’s Primary, Spanish Town.
They are Perez Pearson, Javon Brown, and Maleik Wright. The students were involved earlier in a Fully Bright talent contest. One such item has gone viral.
