Tiwa Savage drops “Waiting In Vain” collaboration
Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian music sensation, has released the remake of Waiting In Vain. The classic hit song was originally recorded by Bob Marley for his highly acclaimed 1977 album Exodus – a record that was named “Album of the Century” by Time Magazine in 1999. This ‘collaboration’ between Tiwa Savage and Bob Marley comes hot on the heels of the success of Ghanaian A-List rapper Sarkodie’s reimagined version of Stir It Up, released in January.
Tiwa Savage, hailed as the “Queen of Afrobeats” by Billboard in 2020, is an unstoppable presence in Africa’s music scene. She dominates the charts both in Nigeria and beyond, solidifying her status as a resilient force. In 2018, she won the coveted title of Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, adding to her impressive array of nominations from BET, MOBO Awards, MTV African Music, and many others.
Speaking on her latest offering, Tiwa says “Bob Marley is an iconic artist who is revered in my home country, Nigeria and all over Africa. His music and message is just as relevant today as it was when first released all those years ago. I’m so I’m love with this record, and its a complete honor to be part of this great project.”
