Yet another remarkable set of vinyl has been released by Spain’s A-Lone Productions. This time it are two brand new 7″ singles and a 12″ platter featuring reissues from singer/producer Linval Thompson and deejay Ranking Trevor.

I MAN CRUZ – TEK A LOOK / LONE ARK RIDDIM FORCE – TEK A DUB

Although inspired by some of the most renowned Jamaican singers such as Freddie McGregor, I Man Cruz has a unique singing style. This fine Spanish roots reggae singer already attracted attention with songs like Nuff A Dem, featured on the B-side of The Viceroys’ 12″ single Dem A Come, and We’re Going To Zion, the collab single with Roberto Sánchez. And now he’s back with a brand new 7″ single titled Tek A Look. Produced, recorded, and mixed by Roberto “Lone Ark” Sánchez, Cruz’s vocal and lyrical delivery is on spot over a compelling riddim that has been expertly laid by the Lone Ark Riddim Force. Before its official release, Tek A Look already made waves when played in different sound system sessions throughout Europe. The single is taken off I Man Cruz’s upcoming album, which will be released later this year.

INÉS PARDO – OPEN YOUR EYES / LONE ARK RIDDIM FORCE – OPEN YOUR DUB

Spanish songstress Inés Pardo has a long-term musical relationship with Roberto Sánchez. It was after meeting the latter at his A-Lone Ark studio in 2003, that she started singing reggae tunes. In 2017, the producer of esteemed A-Lone Productions released a 12″ vinyl single with an extended version of Inés Pardo’s tune Sound System which was followed by her debut album in showcase format titled One Sister Showcase. Almost six years after the release of that successful album, Inés Pardo returns with a brand new 7″ single for Roberto Sánchez’s Ark imprint. Similar to her past work, the song Open Your Eyes displays a gifted vocalist with a soulful melody, delivering heartfelt lyrics that deserve attention. The Lone Ark Riddim Force delivers their customary impressive musical accompaniment, exemplified by Open Your Dub on the other side.

LINVAL THOMPSON – MR BOSS MAN / RANKING TREVOR – STOP PUSHING ME AROUND

The icing on the cake of this set of vinyl releases is the 12″ vinyl release courtesy of Linval Thompson, who has a regular collaboration with Roberto Sánchez. It’s a repress of one of his iconic releases on the Strong Like Sampson label. Linval Thompson is the star of this record, both providing the vocals and handling production duties for two strong competitors battling it out for supremacy. Originally released in 1980, Linval passionately pleads for his rights on this extended version of Mr Boss Man. Complemented by a powerful and eerie riddim played by the Roots Radics and recorded at Channel One, this beautiful roots piece brings listeners just over 7 minutes of pure musical bliss. On the flipside, Ranking Trevor delivers a dynamic performance over the same riddim. His piece is infused with his signature deejay style of seamlessly transitioning between beats. This allows listeners to fully immerse themselves in the Roots Radics’ unbeatable riddim. This record is surely worth every penny.
