Jamaican music producer Donovan “Don Corleon” Bennett is known among many dancehall enthusiasts worldwide for successful riddim projects like Mad Ants, Egyptian, Good To Go, Jonkanoo, Krazy, Trifecta, and Sweat. International Roots Reggae lovers will surely remember his albums with Pressure Busspipe (Love & Affection), Sizzla (Rise To The Occassion and Soul Deep) and Protoje (The Seven Year Itch), but even more his introduction of a modern interpretation of the classic one drop beat when he produced the Drop Leaf riddim which included hit tunes like Sizzla’s Be Strong, Jah Cure’s Longing Fo, T.O.K’s Footprints, and Luciano’s For The Leaders. It was followed up with riddims such as Seasons, Changes, Heavenly, and Secrets

Nearly two decades after his first reggae juggling project, Drop Leaf, took the reggae world by storm, Don Corleon proves he still has the magic touch with his latest creation, the Finally Riddim. This new project features tracks from established artists like Tarrus Riley, Pressure Busspipe, T.O.K., and Christopher Martin, as well as up-and-coming talent Kimeco, KeelyKeyz, Taye, and Sizzla’s son Meleku. Gentleman, known for his hit Intoxication on the Drop Leaf riddim, contributes the track Watch Over Me, but it doesn’t quite reach the same level of intoxicating appeal. Kimeco also explores the same theme in El Shadai, which leaves a stronger impact than the Gentleman piece. Tarrus Riley’s debut track, the poignant It Nuh Make Sense, is a standout song that deserves multiple listens. The remainder of the album focuses on love, with highlights including Christopher Martin’s Don’t Let Go and Pressure Busspipe’s Forever. Other tracks worth mentioning are Meleku’s Defense and Keely Keyz’s No Disturbing.

Fans of riddims like Drop Leaf and Seasons will thoroughly enjoy Don Corleon’s newest project.
