Sylvan White - Give Jah Praises

Teaming up with producers and musicians who exactly know how to provide Jamaican foundation artists with proper live played riddims and analog sounds, which enables them to excel, can really make a big difference as we’ve come to know from releases by Spanish record labels such as Nansa Records, A-Lone Productions and Liquidator Music.

This can once more fully experienced when spinning Sylvan White’s roots scorcher “Give Jah Praise”, actually the follow-up to the recently released single “Come Now Africans”, which was produced, recorded and mixed by Roberto Sánchez. Almost the same musicians – including the late Style Scott on drums (courtesy of Thompson Sound), Roberto Sánchez on bass, guitars, keys and backing vocals, Gorka Fernández ontrombone & trumpet, Saioa Jorrín on alto sax, and Shanti Yalah on percussions – that were featured on its predecessor are present here and deserve full credit for the sparkling riddim track that underpins the Santiago Villaverde & Roberto Sánchez produced “Give Jah Praise”.

Reggae fans who are always looking and longing for a dub version on the flipside of a 7″ single, are served well with Sons Of Nansa’s very appetizing “Praise Dub”, which just like the vocal side transports the listener back to the late ’70s/early ’80s.

Crucial roots vibes!
