In 1994, Dave Kelly initiated the ‘jam’ concept or ‘megamix’ album, when he issued an album with his influential dancehall riddim called “Pepperseed”. The 26 cuts he had recorded for the riddim were segued together in a seamless piece of extended music. This album was followed by “Arabian Jam”, bringing together more than 30 tracks on the “Heartbeat” and “Arab Attack” riddims. With the introduction of an affordable computer with cd burner in the second half of the 1990s, it became easier to create your own megamixes and put them on cd-r. And so we did! Actually some of them were sent to David Rodigan, who even played a few of our megamixes in his ‘Rodigan’s Rockers’ radio show on BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service). Here we present a megamix featuring cuts on the “Bagpipe”, “Hype”, “Bruck Bottle”, “Bitter Blood”, Bellyas” and “Rat Patrol” riddims
