TUNE OF THE WEEK #4
RICHIE SPICE – YOUTH A SO COLD – MASSIVE B
Bobby Konders of Massive B is known for regularly updating classic reggae riddims. In 2006, he produced a relicked version of Alan Campbell’s Take A Ride, later becoming better known as Johnny Osbourne’s Studio One 1979 hit Truth & Rights. In all, an inspired choice with its authentic old-skool mix and wheezy organ licks. Bobby Konders recorded vocal cuts with artists such as Johnny Osbourne (in combination with Burro Banton), Sizzla, King Kong, Chuck Fender, Spanner Banner, Khari Kill, and Chezidek. One of the highlights was Richie Spice’s moving reality tune titled Youth A So Cold.
