DR ALIMANTADO – OIL CRISIS – ITAL

The 1973 single Oil Crisis is Dr Alimantado’s vocal version to Best Dressed Chicken In Town. It utilises the Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry produced riddim of Horace Andy’s Ain’t No Sunshine, recorded at the legendary Black Ark studio. Here, The Ital Surgeon, as Dr Alimantado is also known, sings of the cruel energy crisis situation in Jamaica and holds Arab and Israel nations to blame for such.
