Released in Jamaica on Nathan Skyers’ own Family House imprint, Salute To The Heros is a late ’90s digi homage to black leaders. The singer, featured in the ’80s on the Mandigo label, is heard here chanting out in righteous fashion on a storming stepper complete with high pitched frog calls and an organ playing a Kunte Kinte style melody. On the flip side of the original 1999 single there’s a pounding instrumental to fulljoy. The original pressing was very small and got a repress from New York label Digikiller in 2017, which doesn’t contains the instrumental but instead has the same vocal cut on its flip side.
