Phillip ‘Fatis’ Burrell was a dominant figure in reggae music for twenty years. For his Xterminator label he produced an impressive roster of artists that included Luciano, Sizzla, Ini Kamoze, Ras Shiloh, Beres Hammond, and the Firehouse Crew with Sly Dunbar. ‘Fatis’ Burrell, who produced music with a cutting-edge vibe, had a golden run throughout the 1990s. At the time, Luciano and Sizzla were Xterminator’s most successful artists. The label bridged reggae and dancehall perfectly, but ‘Fatis’ was all about promoting culture in terms of lyrics and themes. Listen to this selection and fulljoy the cutting-edge vibe of the music.
