In 1979, Henry James aka Peter Broggs recorded the roots killer I A Field Marshall during a session with the Roots Radics band. Produced by Prince Far I, I A Field Marshall was voiced over the same riddim that Prince Far I used for his song I & I Are The Chosen One. Peter Broggs’ single was released on the Cry Tuff’s label, which wrongly credited the singer as Peter Brogo. The same year, Peter Broggs’ I A Field Marshall (retitled Higher Field Marshall) and Prince Far I’s I & I Are The Chosen One were paired on a vinyl 12″ and released in the UK by Adrian Sherwood’s Hit Run record label. Peter Broggs would later record new versions of I A Field Marshall, some of them under the title Jah Golden Throne.
